Occupational Therapy is a client-centered health profession concerned with promoting health and well-being so that clients can actively participate in all of the "occupations" of life whether the activity is related to their job, homelife, self-care, school, play or recreation. The goal of OT is to enable people to participate fully in whatever purposeful activities they want, need, or are expected to perform. This may involve helping to decrease their pain and increase flexibility and strength to make the "doing" possible or by modifying the task or the environment to better support their occupational engagement.
